A Second Festival for Morningside

Progress so Far
After the success of the first Festival for Morningside last September and to mark the Silver jubille of the Morningside Heritage Association we have decided to organise a second event in September 2007. The attractions will include music in Morningside Parish Church, a street market, a Ceilidh, and a chldren's artwork competition. The programme is given below. Back to top

Friday 14 September

Last date for entries for the Children's Artwork Competition "Imagine Morningside" to be handed in to Morningside Library.


Wednesday 19 September to Wednesday 26 September

Exhibition of entries for the Children's Artwork Competition "Imagine Morningside", Morningside Library, Morningside Road.


Friday 21 September


- Judging of Children's Artwork Competition

20.00 to - 23.00 The Merlin, Morningside Road

10.00 - Hermitage Terrace

Festival Launch by Donald Grant (Kays Books) and opening of Morningside Market - craft and market stalls. Maid of the Forth Jazz Band, Voicehouse, Allegro, Lothian and Borders Fire Brigade

10.15 to 13.00 - Morningside Parish Church

Music from Songworks, Morley Whitehead (organ), Elinor Evans & Catriona O'Sullivan (clarsachs), Sarah Laing (traditional Scottish songs).

10.30 - Braid Sanctuary

Start of Maisie Treasure Hunt

11.00 - Guided walk (1) around Morningside. (start & finish at the Braid Sanctuary)

12.00 - Hermitage Terrace

Allegro song and dance group

13.30 - Guided walk around Morningside Cemetery (1). (start & finish at the Braid
